What can I expect on my first visit to the office?
The visit will start with the completion of the intake paperwork. Afterwards you will have an 80 minute psychiatric evaluation. You will be asked about what brings you to the clinic as well as about your medical and social history. The session will end with a discussion about treatment options and how you would like to proceed with your treatment.

How often will I need to be seen?
This is something that is determined during your initial evaluation. This will depend on the severity of symptoms and treatment modalities chosen. A visit every four weeks is the average appointment interval at the beginning of treatment.

How is a psychiatrist different from other mental health providers?
A Psychiatrist is a medical doctor (MD or DO) who has completed 4 years of medical school and a minimum of 4 years of a psychiatric residency. They are qualified to prescribe medication as well as to provide psychotherapy.

How can I prepare for my first appointment?
Please bring past medical and psychiatric records, a list of all current medications including any OTC medications and herbal supplements, and bring a photo ID , credit card, and insurance card for us to put on your file.

What is the Client Portal?
The client portal is a secure website where clients can sign in and manage their care. New Clients can use the portal to request an intake appointment. Current Clients can use the portal to fill out intake paperwork, share documents, manage and request appointments, send messages.

How do I sign-in to the Client Portal
After accessing the portal, click on “I’m an existing client”. You will then be prompted to input your email address (use the same email as you provided us before your initial appointment). Then click “Send Link”. You will receive an email with a link for instant access. Alternatively you can choose to “continue with google” and sign-in using your google account.
